A word from the President
Allow me to welcome you to the Phuket Veterans, formerly known as the International Veterans Association. Our website is your signpost to either contact the Phuket Veterans (PV), or to find the help and assistance that you may need, first time. This can only be achieved through the hard work and efforts put in by the Phuket Veterans team, by creating good relations with those who can help our members when they need it.
The Phuket Veterans are military veterans and former members of the emergency services, though we do have volunteers from the wider Phuket community in the Crisis Response Teams (CRT). They all come under the Phuket Veterans banner. So, what are the Phuket Veterans all about?
The answer is easier explained like this. There are 3 goals of the Phuket Veterans:
- To provide a social and business networking opportunity for our members and their families.
- Become a signpost to professional assistance and services for anyone needing it.
- Develop through training, a crisis response team of volunteers to assist the authorities and aid the Phuket community after a natural disaster or major emergency.
The Phuket Veterans is not an atypical stuffy veterans association, you will find that it is quite the opposite.
You worked hard to earn the title of veteran, now it’s time to make use of it. The Phuket Veterans are apolitical and a non-religious organisation, it is primarily a social and networking association with an aim to provide a ‘signpost to professional assistance service, for resident veterans and veteran travelers in need, as they pass through Phuket.
This signpost service would link those in need, to other groups and departments such as the Embassy Consulates and the Royal British Legion for example, who are set up to handle problems that we as individuals may struggle with.
Members of the Phuket Veterans can be from any country, and involvement with the Phuket Veterans requires only as much or as little commitment as the member or volunteer wishes to offer. The Phuket Veterans are looking for new members to support and even take part in the crisis response programs and social events. A point of note, you don’t need to be a veteran or former member of the emergency services to volunteer for the Crisis Response Team. Our instructors will help you learn new skills that will keep you safe as you volunteer to help others in their time of need.
You may notice from the pictures posted on this website, that we organise and host the memorial days, Remembrance Sunday and Anzac dawn service. Everyone is welcome to come along and pay their respects.
So, if you are interested in hearing more about the Phuket Veterans, or the Phuket Veterans Crisis Response Team, look out for meeting dates and events as they are posted on this site and on our facebook page.
Thanks again for seeking out the Phuket Veterans, we could be the private members association that you have been looking for. Remember, you have earned it.

What We Do
Crisis Response Team (CRT)
There have been several times in recent history, where expat volunteers have stepped forward to help in times of emergencies. Volunteers are never hard to find, the difficulty comes with the organisation of the volunteers and when the skills available within the group is not evident. The IVA CRT will cover the important bases as part of the training, document and update skills of the members. CRT will also be invited to attend Thai Government sponsored crisis response training in Phuket.
International Veterans Community
Phuket Veterans are planning another great Ball in September 2026 with between 100-120 guests in attendance. If you were at the last one, you will know that it was a great night and excellent value for money. We will try to have a different venue to the Gala ball in June, and we will shake up the format.
Remembrance
There is a very well supported Anzac day service on the 25 April each year. This service is usually sponsored by the Australian Embassy and organised by the Australian Consul General. Phuket Veterans have initiated an Armistice (Remembrance) day service. The date will be in line with the ceremony at the Cenotaph in London, normally the closest Sunday to 11th November.
We are an Active Community
Phuket Veterans and CRT Volunteers complete various in house training to keep skills up to date. We use in house instructors to qualify our members.
We also support local businesses and meet up all over the island for social events.
We have alos driven donations and joined donations/charities driven by other locak and international organisations.
